| description | Guangdong Machinery Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd. (henceforth GMG), which is established in 1950, is one of the first state-owned foreign enterprises of China. At the beginning of its establishment, the main business of GMG was to implement national directives of importing emergency materials from the international markets. Since the 1980s, GMG has actively devoted itself into Large-scale Infrastructure Projects, which is to import essential equipment, key techniques and foreign finance for the key construction projects of China such as projects of Guangdong Telecom, China Mobile Guangdong, Guangzhou Metro, Feilaixia Water Conservancy Project. GMG therefore contributes greatly to the modernization strategy of Guangdong province and Southern China. Since the 21st century, GMG has became one of the member enterprises of Guangdong Guangxin Holdings Group. With the strategy transformation from traditional foreign trade to modern trade service, GMG has now grown as a diversified state-owned enterprise with the registered capital of 160 million RMB, which specializes in tendering and procurement, financial leasing, commodity marketing, foreign trade, international projects contracting, steel manufacturing, industrial investment, and property management.
